Gifted and Talented Parent and Student Meeting
On October 21, 2026, Colleton County School District hosted a Gifted and Talented (GT) Parent and Student Meeting facilitated by Mr. Jake Jacobs. During the session, Mr. Jacobs reviewed eligibility requirements, explained the student identification process, and highlighted resources and services available to support gifted learners. Parents and students were encouraged to share their perspectives, ask questions, and provide feedback to help strengthen the district's GT program. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to build partnerships with families and ensure gifted students receive the support and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

On September 26, 2026, four Barbering students and three Nail Technology students participated in the Cutting Insecurities Youth Leadership Series.
The interactive experience focused on confidence building, goal setting, identifying roadblocks, overcoming challenges, and leadership development. Students completed individual activities, participated in open discussions, worked together through real-life scenarios designed to strengthen communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
We are proud of our students for representing Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center and taking advantage of opportunities that support their personal, professional, and leadership development.
