Grading

COURSE LEVELS

Advanced Placement/Dual Credit-designed for students who have demonstrated superior achievement and ability and who wish to earn college credit in high school. The highest GPA weighting for Advanced Placement classes is 5.875 (7-Point Scale) or 6000 (10-Point Scale).

Honors-designed for students who have demonstrated superior achievement and ability, including those identified as gifted/talented. Honors courses prepare students to take Advanced Placement courses. The highest weighting for Honors classes is 5.375 (7-Point Scale) or 5.500 (10-Point Scale).

College Preparatory-designed for the college bound student. The highest GPA weighting is 4.875 (7-Point Scale) or 5.000 (10-Point Scale).

GRADE PLACEMENT POLICY

 9th  The student must have successfully completed grade 8.
10th   The student must have earned at least 6 units of credit, including 1 English & 1 math.
 11th  The student must have earned at least 12 units of credit, including 2 English classes & 2 math classes.
 12th   The student must have earned at least 18 units of credit and be in position to complete all 24 required units of credit by graduation day. Three of these units must be English and 3 must be math.
