Eddie Berry (eberry@colleton.k12.sc.us) is the instructor of Masonry at TCTC.  He has been a Brick Mason for 30 plus years.  Mr. Berry has an Associate Degree in Industrial Technology from Denmark Technical College.  He has also taught masonry in the South Carolina Prison System. Mr. Berry is married and has two sons. His motto is "Reach One Teach One."  Mr. Berry's goal is for every student to learn the fundamentals of masonry.

Prerequisite(s):

This course introduces students to the masonry trade and prepares them to lay building materials such as brick, stone, pavers, and concrete block to construct or repair walls, and other structures. Topics include: basic safety, masonry tools and equipment, measurements, drawings and specifications, mortar, and masonry installation techniques.

This is an advanced preparation course for the masonry trade. Topics include: residential plans and drawing interpretation, residential masonry, grout and other reinforcement, metal work in masonry, advanced laying/construction techniques and moisture control, elevated work, construction inspection and quality control.
